Five models across two platforms — full-rim and side-shield — built for water. Polarization is the baseline here, not an upgrade: it cuts the glare that reflects off the surface, which is the reason this category exists at all.

Two of the range can be built in a floating material, so the frame returns to the surface if it goes overboard.

1. Polarized or not is your first decision. TAC and PC polarized lenses are both available. Polarization costs more per unit, but fishing buyers expect it — a non-polarized fishing frame is a hard sell in most markets.

2. Floating material is a genuine differentiator. On a KA-platform frame it means the glasses come back if dropped in the water. For boat and shore anglers that’s the difference between losing a pair and drying one off. It’s an option, so specify it if your market values it.

3. Side shields suit a narrower buyer. The KM platform blocks glare entering from the side. It’s the right shape for fishing, glacier and high-glare conditions, and the wrong shape for customers who want an everyday frame.

4. Lens category matters more than colour. For daylight on water, a category 3 lens is the usual choice. Confirm the category with your market’s requirements — especially if you sell into Australia or New Zealand, where AS/NZS 1067.1:2016 applies.

What is the difference between the KA and KM platforms?

KA is a full-rim fishing and outdoor frame — wider lens, floating option, more conventional shape. KM is a side-shield wrap with detachable or fixed side pieces that block peripheral glare. They serve different customers.

Which lens material should I choose?

TAC polarized is the standard choice for fishing. PC polarized and nylon polarized are available if you need higher impact resistance or a different optical character. All are UV400.

Can I mix the KA and KM platforms in one order?

Yes — consolidation across platforms is one of the reasons to buy through a partner rather than directly from a single factory.

Do the frames float?

Not by default. Floating material is an option on the KA platform and on KM-Y362F. If floating is a selling point in your market, specify it at enquiry stage.
